CHICAGO (April 18, 2002) –Wayne Brady, Emmy-nominated actor and improv star, is to play a one-night special in Chicago to benefit Gilda’s Club Chicago, the Chicagoland community clubhouse that provides people living with cancer with emotional and social support.
Brady is bringing his hugely successful improv show “Wayne Brady and Friends Live!” to the Chicago Theatre, State Street on Thursday, May 16. Brady is best known for his hilarious improv antics on “Whose Line is it Anyway?” and his self-titled variety show. He will also be joining the talk show ranks as host of “The Wayne Brady Show” scheduled to launch this fall. Talking about the upcoming Chicago benefit, Brady said “Gilda Radner was a great comedienne and I am delighted to support Gilda’s Club Chicago in her memory - we’re going to have some fun on May 16!”

All proceeds from this event will go towards funding our program which is provided free of charge - we offer support and networking groups, lectures, workshops, and social events in our clubhouse.”
