GCC @ School
Cancer Support for the Classroom
GCC @ School offers free educational and support services for students from preschool through high school who are returning to school after a cancer diagnosis and/or treatment. Our aim is to promote peer support by fostering understanding of a cancer diagnosis and its effects on the classroom environment.
What is provided:
- A developmentally appropriate presentation by a trained professional, tailored to meet the specific needs of the classroom
- A curriculum designed to create a supportive environment

Kid’s Bereavement
Kids’ Bereavement is a support program for children ages 5-12 who have experienced the cancer-related death of a family member or friend. The group focuses on developing coping skills and healthy communication of difficult feelings.

Kid’s Support
Kids’ Support is a program for children ages 5-12 who are living with cancer or who have a loved one living with cancer. The group focuses on the various ways cancer can impact a child and family’s life and strategies children can use to navigate these changes.

Red Door Squad Teen Support Group
2nd Monday of the Month | 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Hybrid (Downtown Clubhouse and virtual via Zoom)
Red Door Squad is a group for teens (ages 13-17) who have been impacted by cancer. This group helps teens feel supported and understood by others who are going through a similar experience. Teens can connect; learn coping techniques, stress reduction and relaxation skills; have fun; and explore their feelings in a safe space.

Teens are welcome to bring a friend with them to the group.
